This a question I get all the time and as many of you know me, I want to get the heck outta Iowa. I want to move to Arizona or somewhere on the East Coast after I graduate college. That’ll be the summer of 2024 for those of you forget that I am a junior and still 20 years old. Once I figure out where I am going to move, I will start to target my business for that area and the surrounding areas. This can be done by attending content/ retreats as well as social media marketing my business with hashtags + blog posts. I can use my hashtags to directly pop up on certain peoples instagrams, where they will see my work and hopefully (fingers crosses) book with me. As a photographer, I really rely on referrals and social media to show other states that I am a photographer who will be moving to their area. I am very nervous for moving my business because there’s a chance it takes me 2+ years to get to where I am now and as busy I am now. I am scared about how this could end up but it is in Gods hands and He knows what my future has in store for me. I hope that in the next year I am booking weddings all across the country and that my website (coming soon) will reach audiences all around the world. From there, I hope to find some other photographers in the area that I am moving to connect with and second shoot for them. Some think that second shooting is a waist of time or “they are too good for it” which to some degree it can be. I think of it as a way to connect with vendors, venues and get a lay of the land. Moving to a whole new state with different “rules” for the wedding industry could be tricky to figure out, which is why second shooting for a few weddings would be helpful! I hope that in the next 4 years I am established, have 10+ destination weddings worldwide + nationally, as well as 25+ weddings in my surrounding area. I hope to still get senior sessions and family sessions as well as the occasion “event” session. I do have plans in the future to put together a content day for other photographers/ models and try to partner up with florists and boutiques around me. All I know for sure in the future for my business is that I am going to still love what I do, get tears every time I hear vows and have my heart be full of contentment because at the end of the day I get to do what I love. I get to capture peoples love stories and tell them with my camera. Love you all + I cannot wait to bring along on this journey.
